THE KENYA NATIONAL PRAYER BREAKFAST

The National Conversation

The National Prayer Breakfast includes what has come to be known as the “National Conversation.” The National Conversation is a dialogue which takes place on the afternoon preceding the Prayer Breakfast.

It is an afternoon that brings together some 400 to 500 senior national leaders to deliberate on pertinent national issues.

A different topical issue is handled each year. In 2016, for instance, the topic was “National Cohesion.”

The National Conversation is intended to be a ‘free, safe, and open space’ where leaders can wrestle with the issue at hand and propose tangible, pragmatic and achievable solutions.  The afternoon concludes with a time of prayer for the nation and for the leaders.  The National Conversation   is an integral part of the overall National Prayer Breakfast.

"If you once forfeit the confidence of your fellow citizens, you can never regain their respect or esteem. It is true that you can fool some of the people all the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time"
~ Abraham Lincoln
